Early Renaissance Artworks

Background And Techniques Of Collage Artists
Collage artists work with images, forms, fabric, papers, plastic, three-dimensional styles, dry media such as the aforementioned drawing materials, and wet media, including watercolor or ink. Mixed media painters could use just about anything to create a work of art. These artists will attach materials to boards, canvas expanded over a board, or just about any flat or curved surface to create a work of art. Mixed media artists draw from own personal experience and other artists to formulate a concept for a work of art. They choose objects which relate with the concept that they would like to convey. Sometimes these artists may also apply relatively not related items and let the viewer come up with connections with the materials. At times the materials are put together merely for visual look as well.
Although they were not called mixed media artists, painters of the Byzantine Empire, 330 to 1453 A.D., often made use of gilded gold leaf on their paintings, mosaics, frescoes and manuscripts. The arts gone stale through the Dark Ages, but prospered along with the emergence of the Renaissance. In addition to making use of tempera, a paint medium which dates to ancient Egypt, oil artwork became popular. Many painters applied gold leaf to painted wood panels in order to get vivid heavens or glowing halos on religious panels.
Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque are regarded as the fathers of Cubism. Working independently without any communication between them, both artists created works which were similar. By digesting art to dimensional areas of research, they worked with form and space rather than authentic imagery. In 1912 Picasso created his first genuine mixed media piece, “Still Life with Chair Caning.” He pasted paper and oilcloth to canvas and combined them with painted areas.
Mixed media is a blanket term for every artistic endeavor which uses two or more objects that would not ordinarily or traditionally be used collectively in a single piece. More specifically, a mixed media drawing is one which intensely utilizes drawing materials on a drawing surface area of some kind, yet which likewise incorporates many other materials which have been assembled into the drawing. A considerate painter will select materials which relate to one another and to the subject or idea of the painting. For example, a mixed pen and charcoal drawing on standard velum, featuring a little child carrying a stuffed ducky and a blanket, is fixed onto a canvas. The border of the drawing is then painted with baby-blue acrylic paint and little yellow-colored ducky buttons are sewn in a random distribution around the edges.
Drawing from the work of early artists, mixed media has become an available art form for both professional and novice painters. Assemblage and collage can be found mixed with acrylic and watercolor painting, rubber-stamped art, sculpture as well as modified books. Fibers, torn papers, inks, glitters as well as beads are finding their way into works of art and commercial items such as cards and quilts. The future of mixed media, it seems, is limited only by the imagination of artists and whatever they are able to get hold of.
Clara Berta is one of the greatest collage artists in the world and is also recognized for her mixed media artworks. At the same time, her great property, Villaberta is also a perfect artist studio as well as film locations Los Angeles. Architecture and fine art sum up Clara’s astonishing creativity.
